Why Simon’s Angels Was Founded

Simon Bradley  was born on August 25, 2004 with two congenital illnesses that would have necessitated a multi-visceral transplant surgery. He needed several organs donated to him in order to sustain life. Tragically, complications from his illnesses (Hirshsprung’s Disease and Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome) took him from this world, August 26, 2005. In his absence we keep his memory alive by raising money to help children and families in similar circumstances as Simon. Our wish is to give pediatric transplant recipients and families a glitter of hope in desperate times. It is during these times that families need to be together, and we have made that possible for many families. Our desire is to continue this important work to help those who need it most. Help us help them, your support is appreciated by our foundation and the families we help.

How We Have Helped

Since 2006 Simon’s Angels has raised more than $500,000 through fundraisers and website donations. We started at the YMCA in Port Orange with a “family fun day” and have produced numerous fundraisers throughout the years. We have evolved and now have an annual event gala in Simon’s honor. Our annual gala generates more than $50,000 and over 90% of the funds raised go to help families in need.  Since inception we have helped numerous families and donated more than 90% of our proceeds to the cause. There are no employee expenses! All of our efforts are fueled by Board member volunteers, friends and family, enabling us to support families in need with minimal overhead cost. Simon’s memory lives on through this great cause and organization, and we hope that you will consider helping us along the way.
