Family Fun Day - Sunday, August 26, 2007 |

It is with great pride that we write this letter in recognition of the tremendous support for the 2007 Simon’s Angels Family Fun Day!!! We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of assistance both monetarily and emotionally from our community, our family and our wonderful friends. The turnout was fantastic and we owe a great debt of gratitude to the Port Orange YMCA for allowing us to hold our event at their facility - we look forward to holding our future events there as well! With donations still coming in, we have met our goal of $20,000, and we are very excited about what this means for our prospective aid to transplant recipients and their families over the course of this coming year. Our objective will be to continue helping these special people and their families in hopes of taking some of the burden so they can enjoy time with each other free of unnecessary suffering and worry. It is a hard enough path that each of these patients and their families must travel; we would like to lessen the bumps in the road for them. We have been able to help four transplant families since the fundraiser -- so we are off to a great start!! The sky is the limit for helping these people, and we appreciate all of you who took the time to help our cause this year. (continue) |
